PROJECT FORT: PART 1

I love forts.  Ever since I was a little kid, forts were always the best times in my life.  Taking some sort of liveable structure, taking some essential items, and whatever was REALLY important to me and setting up shop.  Now, when I moved out it was a very similar experience.  I wanted to make the most badass room/apartment ever.  All it really turned into however was a whole fuckton of working and buying material goods.

I'm sick of 45 hours a week of something I don't give a rat's ass about.  Sure I get paid, and that's "good," but metric nailed it when they said "Money is a sick muse." I am NOT devoting my life to the acquisition of money and material goods.  I never wanted that EVER.  Lo' and behold that is exactly what my life turned into.  Ok not exactly, but my debit card log says different.

I am starting PROJECT: FORT (but first a little more backstory)

I am scheduled two days off a week, and this is the most telling.  I spend almost all of it trying to escape and remove myself from the other 5 days out of the week as I can.  That's not right, and it's a straight fucked way to live.  I want every day to be awesome or at least something to be proud of.  Seven days of partying would be retarded, but hard work that you can personally take pride in is important.  I do my best to take as much satisfaction as I can from my job, but I can't help but feeling I'm spinning my wheels.

That statement is not to, de-value the times I have for my friends, but sometimes it really feels like that's all that I live for.  I love those times and they're not going anywhere, I just need...more.

I want to make this clear:  This is not some long-winded explanation that culminates with me quitting my job.  There will be a time for that, but not right now.  I still need my call center gig for some much needed prep.

PROJECT: FORT is a two-pronged movement that will focus on changing my habits and providing the best life possible.

Before going into the targets and goals of PROJECT: FORT.  I would like to name the people close to me that have helped inspire this movement.  I'm sorry if you're not mentioned, but rest assured a part of you is very much in this undertaking.  I swear.

FIRST:
Mom and Dad-Do yor eally want me to explain why my parents have helped me get here?  You can probably draw those conclusions yourself.  Be creative I believe in you!

Kenny Wisdom-He is absolutely focused on his goal of being a professional Pokemon TCG player.  He surrounds himself with people that have those same aspirations, and also is willing to forego a good time to keep moving forward.  Through all the jeering and uses of the words "Bitch" he still time after time never falters and always prioritizes  his dream over a night or day of getting drunk.  Mad props bro.

Ashley Clay-A real stand up gal, always shows up to work and her commitments (only calls out for the most debilitating of afflictions).  Someone I very much respect for their dedication and understands the value of hard work.

Joe "Father Time" Preti-Joe gives me hope as I become an adult.  He's able to balance his responsibilities as an adult, but he never really lost sight of the things that he really loves.  Although, it sounds derogatory, but I believe he's taking the term "Manchild" back for all of us.  Paving a way for those who meld their inner child and responsible adult damn near flawlessly.

Kirby-The only person who can work at a call center for 3 years and still stand strong.  I wish to embody that dedication and longevity in my life.  A person who is fiercly loyal to her friends and works hard for the kind of life she wants.  Mad respect.

Rose/Casey-For showing me that isn't viable to just break away (that was not a jab for the year you spent in Oregon, I swear).  I seriously considered jumping ship and just going elsewhere.  I realized very clearly that I need the people close to me to be around, I'd break otherwise.

NOW FOR WHAT PROJECT FORT ACTUALLY IS:
