Honor is a misunderstood trait in today's world. Usually associated with saps and other passive types. When you want something, you have to go after it with such fervor that you leave others battered and broken behind you. What an awful lesson. I subscribe to the thought that you should use your success and allow everyone to rise and benefit. There are few that share that outlook with me.
I've been a fan of Schwarzenegger for a long time, but it never sat well with me how he sabotaged and undermined others efforts in his conquests.
I could never look down from a podium and declare I was right simply because I was the victor. What an awful sentiment. It drives me crazy to think there are those who use these underhanded tactics with the excuse they'd do anything to win. As if there desire is inherently more important than others simply because they are willing to compromise their ethics and morals. That isn't sacrifice. That's the story of Faust.
MC Hammer was an interesting guy, he made a fortune and then lost it because he was paying his friend's great wages out of pocket (20 bucks an hour in the early 90's). I wonder how many of those people he helped stuck around after things fell flat? I hope all of them. Disclaimer: I know it's not the only reason, but a surprisingly large factor in his famous bankruptcy.)
Sometimes I wonder if honor is dying.
